At Maq Brown Photography, we make sports photo day simple, organized, and high-end from start to finish. We photograph everything from individual athletes and single teams to full 700+ leagues, schools, and organizations using both traditional and modern composite photography styles.
HERES HOW THE PROCESS WORKS:
1. SCHEDULING & PLANNING
We work directly with the organization, school, or coach to schedule photo day and plan the overall look of the shoot. This includes deciding between traditional photos, custom composites, banners, trading cards, team posters, or a combination of everything.
2. REGISTRATION & ORDERING
Families register online ahead of time through our streamlined system powered by PhotoDay. This eliminates paper forms, cash handling, and confusion on picture day. Athlete names and information entered during registration are used directly on graphics, banners, and products.
3. PHOTO DAY SETUP
On shoot day, we bring a professional studio-style setup directly to your location. Depending on the package selected, we use:
Traditional, natural backgrounds
Professional lighting
Green screen technology for composites
Custom-designed digital backgrounds
This allows us to create everything from clean traditional team photos to dramatic, high-impact sports composites.
4. INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS
Each athlete is photographed individually using guided posing and professional lighting to create strong, modern images that stand out. We keep the process fast and organized so teams move efficiently while still getting premium-quality results.
5. TEAM PHOTOS
We photograph full teams using either:
Traditional team photography
Composite team images (where athletes are photographed separately and digitally combined into one dramatic final image)
Composite team photos allow for cleaner layouts, flexible posing, and polished designs that are impossible with standard group photos.
6. EDITING & DESIGN
After the shoot, every image is professionally edited and designed. For composite shoots, we digitally create custom graphics using team colors, logos, textures, lighting effects, and custom-designed backgrounds tailored to the organization.
7. ONLINE GALLERIES & DELIVERY
Families receive secure galleries via our online platform partners, PhotoDay, where they can easily order prints, digitals, buttons, and more. Orders are delivered directly to families, keeping the process stress-free for coaches and organizations.

We strongly encourage all school boosters to reach out to us prior to utilizing any images for game-day events or promotional usage. This will allow us to discuss and clarify important terms and agreements that govern the usage of our copyrighted photography. We are very easy to work with and will unsure you get the content you need to succeed in a manner that will protect everyone. We would also love to discuss all of our options to help you and your sponsors gain more visibility within the community as well.

You can contact me to schedule your team shoots. I will manually add you to my automated calendar. Any “per-athlete” fees will be invoiced in one sum to your school, team or league, if applicable and must be paid in full before photoday. We take major credit cards, PayPal, or cash at the studio. You can start the booking process to see my availability. Remember, you're investing in my photography services, not just my time. Sessions may go longer or shorter than scheduled. Please contact me prior to booking any shoots to discuss details and to make sure my calendar is up to date.

All final digital images will be delivered to all registered athletes and parent via out hosting platform, Photoday with print and digital purchase options. All images will be watermarked prior to purchasing. Once purchased, final prints and digitals will not have the watermark.

WHAT IS GREENSCREEN/COMPOSITE PHOTOGRAPHY?
I take pictures of each athlete against a green screen, making it easy to add them to a digital background later. This process involves cutting out the athlete from the green screen and placing them into the new background using Photoshop. I usually use three lights for this setup.
DO I HAVE TO BE AT THE SHOOT WITH THE REST OF MY TEAM? DO YOU DO MAKE-UP DAYS?
Please make every effort to arrive on time. My schedule is very tight during sports seasons, and setting up and breaking down takes a lot of time, so we can't return for reschedules for just a few athletes. However, we might come back to your school for other team shoots, and you could join one of those sessions, but it's not guaranteed. Contact us to discuss, and we'll do our best to help.
CAN I SELECT PROOFS?I send seniors proofs to choose what image they would like to use on their banners. Other than that, I give all athletes a wide selection of final edits to choose from for print & digital downloads. We are unable to send all athletes proofs at this time since I am just a one man show.
